The Ritual of a Good Cigar

Behind the red neon sign, a familiar ritual begins: choose a cigar, make the cut and take your time with the light. These photographs follow the details that give the experience its character.

It starts with the first light

The close-up of a cigar meeting the flame brings the ritual into focus. The hands, the lighter and the glowing tobacco tell the story without much else. It is a small sequence of deliberate actions before the first draw.

The red light carries through from the cigar-shop sign to the darker photograph below. It gives the images a shared mood and keeps the attention on the moment when the cigar comes to life.

Character in the details

In the brighter still life, an E.P. Carrillo Pledge stands beside Luzhouse Maduro Nights. The blue and gold bands, dark wrapper and amber glass each have a distinct presence. Set against a simple background, their shapes and finishes become the focus.

Beside it, the close-up of the flame shows the same ritual from another angle: one image studies the objects; the other captures the action. Together, they connect what we choose with how we use it.

The objects around the ritual

The final overhead photograph brings the pieces together: a cigar, copper-colored scissors, a patterned gold ashtray and a candle. Each has its place on the table. The arrangement makes the ritual tangible, from preparing the cigar to setting it down between draws.

Some things fill a space. Others represent you.

That attention to objects is part of the Luzhouse Cigar Lounge Collection. Maduro Nights appears here as part of the setting, alongside the tools and cigars that give it a personal point of view.

The Ritual of a Good Cigar

A good ritual is built from the details you return to: the cigar you choose, the tools you keep and the time you make for it.
