There are too many good cigars to pretend one list settles anything. This is simply what has our attention right now.

What earns a place on the table

We are interested in cigars with a clear identity — construction and balance matter, but so do presentation, the story behind the maker and whether a cigar feels recognizable before you ever light it.

One example currently in the rotation is the Room101 Big Payback Maduro. Its dark presentation and straightforward character caught our attention, but this Journal is not built around one cigar brand. Room101 is one reference inside a broader conversation about cigars, materials, design and the objects we choose to keep around us.

No forced rankings

We are more interested in what makes a cigar distinctive than assigning a number to it. Expect straightforward observations, strong photography and occasional appearances beside objects from the Luzhouse world.
